Palenque ruler K'inich Ahkal Mo' Nahb' III from the limestone tablet discovered in Temple XIX. The tablet was found in fragments in front of the hieroglyphic platform. Other fragments were found just outside the west end of the building. Those in front of the platform were covered with carbon desposits from burning in an apparent termination ritual. The restored tablet is now on display in the Palenque site museum.(Photo: Mark Van Stone.)
